Rose
Jun 8, 1958 — Aug 23, 2026
Longview, Washington
William lived a life marked by kindness, dependability, and deep devotion to the people he loved.
William Patrick Rose, of Longview, Washington, passed away on August 23, 2026, at the age of 68. He was born on June 8, 1958, in Ocala, Florida.
William lived a life marked by kindness, dependability, and deep devotion to the people he loved. He was known as a good-hearted man who was always willing to help anyone in need. His family knew him as someone who was always available and present, offering help in countless small ways each and every day. He gave generously of himself, and those closest to him will remember above all the time, love, and laughter he shared so freely.
He served for a short time as a Private First Class in the Marine Corps in 1976. He later earned his GED from Breckinridge Job Corp in 1977, and in 2002 completed an Associate of Arts degree in Industrial Maintenance Electrical from Lower Columbia College. His determination and steady commitment were reflected in these accomplishments.
William found joy in many simple pleasures. He enjoyed woodworking, puzzles, magnet fishing, metal detecting, reading, and riding his motorcycle. He also took special delight in teasing his grandsons, a playful expression of the love he had for them. His family especially cherished watching him play with his grandson, moments that captured his warmth and the happiness he found in being with those he loved most.
He gave generously of himself, and those closest to him will remember above all the time, love, and laughter he shared so freely.
His proudest accomplishments were raising his children and always being present for them, and later doting on his grandchildren. These roles meant the most to him and were the clearest reflection of the man he was. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed his grandchildren more than anything.
William is survived by his daughter, Chandra Rose Lopez; his son, Robert Rose; his son-in-law, Michael Polanshek; and his grandsons, John Lopez, Gavin Lopez, Michael Lopez, and Samuel Polanshek; and his step-father, Richard Zimmerman. He leaves behind a family who will continue to carry forward the memory of his steady presence, his helping hands, and his generous heart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Rose; his mother, MaryAnne Zimmerman; and his father, William Rose Jr.
William Patrick Rose will be remembered with love for his faithful presence in the lives of those around him, for the joy he brought to his family, and for a life centered on caring for others. His memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew and loved him.
