Terry Wayne Bumgarner

Terry Wayne Bumgarner, 65, of Longview, passed away Nov. 5, 2023.

He was born March 28, 1958, in Bakersfield, Calif., to David and Donna (Malloy) Bumgarner. Terry attended Livingstone Junior Academy in Salem, Ore., and graduated from Laurelwood Adventist Academy in 1977 in Gaston, Ore.

On Oct. 7, 1979, Terry married Lucille Thompson in Salem, Ore. They had five children and later divorced.

Terry was a manager for Taco Bell until 1986 when he started at Kaiser Permanente in Salem transferring to Longview in 1989. He retired in 2017. Terry was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, active in Vacation Bible School, as a Sabbath School Teacher and a member of Praise Team. He enjoyed singing, art, and collecting Garfield memorabilia.

Terry is survived by four sons and their spouses, Christopher Bumgarner of Longview, and Alexander and Mary Bumgarner, Ronald Bumgarner, and Nolan and Andraya Bumgarner, all of Kelso; three brothers and their spouses, Joseph and Rori Bumgarner of Rockwall, Texas, and David Bumgarner and Aaron and Shonna Bumgarner, both of Salem, Ore.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Donna Bumgarner; and a niece, Krista Dawn Bumgarner.

A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19 at The Kelso-Longview Seventh-day Adventist Church. Ben Moor and Jim John will officiate.

Final arrangements were entrusted to Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park.
