Mark Jonathan Lundgren, 66, of Kelso, WA, passed away on December 22, 2023. He was born on February 13, 1957, in Jackson, California, to his mother Arlene (Lucke) Shofner and the late John Lundgren.
Mark was a skilled truck driver and cement worker, dedicating his career to hauling cement and operating various heavy equipment. His passion for mechanics began in his teenage years when he assisted his grandfather with building and cement projects. He developed a deep understanding of machines and could fix just about anything, earning him a reputation as a gifted tinkerer. Mark's love for his work and precision in operating heavy equipment were admired by those who knew him.
Mark always loved his family, especially his son & daughter and grandchildren, despite not getting to see them as much as he’d have liked. One of his highlights of his life was walking his daughter down the aisle in a beautiful wedding in Kauai and getting to spend time with his son & great grandchildren on the island.
Despite illness later in life, Mark found solace in his beloved shop. He would spend hours tinkering, surrounded by the warmth of a crackling fire, caring for his dogs, and enjoying his favorite TV shows and hanging out with his buddies who’d come by for a visit.
His determination and resilience were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Mark will be deeply missed by his partner, Cindy Gleason of Kelso, WA; his son, Mark J Lundgren of Jackson, CA; his daughter, Kristine (Lundgren) Augello (Tom) of lone, CA; his sister, Tina (Lundgren) Gorman (Timothy) of FL; his grandchildren, Arianna and Jerome “JJ” Lundgren of Jackson, CA; his niece, Elizabeth (Gorman) Rackley (Joseph) of SC; his grandnephew and grandniece, Zane Rackley (Jeanine) of Japan and Audrey Rackley of SC; his uncles and aunts, Jay and Sue Lucke of Jackson and Richard and Sharon Lundgren of Pine Grove; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, John Lundgren; his grandson, Ryan Cromer; his grandparents, John & Selma Lucke and John & Ruth Lundgren; as well as many uncles & aunts, and dear family members.
Mark's educational journey began at Pioneer Elementary and led him to graduate from Amador County High School in 1975. His commitment to learning and his passion for mechanics shaped his successful career.
