Lawrence Molyneux

Lawrence Emil Molyneux, 89, of Vancouver passed away on September 5, 2022.

Lawrence was born on October 29, 1932 to Enoch and Emilia Molyneux in a small brick house on the Salmon Creek family homestead. This house still remains in the backyard of the home that he later built for his family. Lawrence was the youngest of six siblings.

Lawrence graduated from Vancouver High School in 1951. He joined the US Navy in 1954 and served on the aircraft carrier, Bon Homme Richard, CVA 31, until October of 1958.

In 1959, Lawrence married the love of his life Kathleen Ellertson and they went on to have three sons.

Lawrence worked for Jantzen Sportswear for 39 years. During that time, he worked at both the Portland and Vancouver locations, eventually retiring from his position of maintenance supervisor at the Vancouver facility.Lawrence enjoyed camping, hunting, and going to the Glenwood Rodeo. He was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he especially enjoyed working on church remodels and having lunch with his close

group of friends.

Lawrence and Kathleen both grew up in Salmon Creek and befriended many other Salmon Creek kids who

became life-long friends. They enjoyed annual camping trips with this group throughout the years.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Kathleen. He is survived by sons, Keith (Jonette)

Molyneux, Kirk (Jill) Wait-Molyneux, and Chris (Chelinda) Molyneux; grandchildren, Kylie, Cameron, Jared,

Colby, Katie, Sarah, Grayson, Eryk, and Evyn; and great grandchildren, Marley, Cedella, Ruby, and Reese. He was also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Michelle Molyneux and his five brothers and sisters

(Arleen, Tom, Loyd, Ray, and Dorothy).

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church (309 W 39th Street, Vancouver, WA), with graveside following at 2:00 p.m. at Northwood Park Cemetery.
