La Fon B. Worden passed away on July 8, 2026, at the age of 88.

La Fon was born September 21, 1937, in Longview, Washington, to Guy P. Bohannon and Beulah (Estes) Bohannon. She grew up in Longview and graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1955. She went on to attend Lewis & Clark College, where she studied music.

While attending college, La Fon met Marvin Cohen, whom she married in February 1958. The couple later moved to Milwaukie, Oregon, where La Fon built a life and raised her family. She worked as a technician for Precision Castparts Corp. from 1981 until her retirement in 2003.

In 2003, La Fon married the love of her life, Raymond F. Worden. Together they spent their summers in their home on Anderson Island, Washington, winters in Sun City, AZ and enjoyed their years together traveling and enjoying their hobbies and retirement until Raymond’s passing in 2019.

La Fon was a sweet and patient woman with a lifelong love of the arts. Music was especially important to her; she loved to sing and play the piano. Her creativity extended to embroidery and glasswork, and she took great pleasure in making beautiful things with her hands. She also enjoyed the simple happiness of playing cards and bingo with friends.

Above all, La Fon leaves behind a family whose lives were shaped by her gentle nature and enduring presence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy P. Bohannon and Beulah (Estes) Bohannon; her beloved husband, Raymond F. Worden; her son, Alan Cohen; and her step-siblings, Carol, Ed, and Shirley (Cutright).

La Fon is survived by her brother, Guy LeRoy “Butch” Bohannon; her daughter, Becky Cohen; her three grandchildren, Leola Davis, Landon Cohen and his partner, Kari, and Ashlyn Madani and her husband, Ryan; and her nine great-grandchildren, Mason, Tanner, Dallon, Barrett, Gage, Kieran Peterson, Emmett Madani, and Felicity and Linnea Cohen.

La Fon will be remembered for her kindness, her patience, her creativity, and the quiet warmth she brought to the lives of those who knew and loved her.
