Joseph L. Moran

Joseph L. Moran, 81, of Longview, died Sept. 25, 2023.

He was born Feb. 2, 1942, to Clarence and Mary Jane (De Coteau) Moran, and moved to the local area 60 years ago.

Joseph worked in the logging industry and enjoyed his dogs, fishing, hunting, gardening, canning and smoking the fish he caught. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, and his love of life.

He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Painte of Longview; a brother, Robert A. Moran of Parshall, N.D.; three sisters, Elaine Murray (Richard) of Longview and Linda Giffey and Vicki Shervan, both of Parshall; his former wife and best friend, Claudia Moran of Longview; five grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Larry; four brothers, Bill, Henry, Frank and Clarence Jr.; and four sisters, Mary, Deloris, Diane and Brenda.

No public service will be held.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park.
