Jill Marie McLaughlin, lovingly known as “Pickle” and “Sweet Little Jilly,” passed away of natural causes on September 7, 2026, in Belinho, Esposende, Portugal. She was born on December 28, 1960, in Longview, Washington, and lived a life marked by warmth, energy, laughter, and deep devotion to the people she loved.

Jill graduated from Mark Morris High School in Longview, Washington, in 1979. She went on to open and run her successful business, Glazy Dayz Pottery Studio in Kelso, Washington, a reflection of both her creativity and her enterprising spirit. Her accomplishments were many, but those held closest to her heart were her 42-year marriage to Dave, raising her children, building a very successful business, and traveling with Dave to every state in America except Alaska.

She had a way of making life brighter wherever she went. Jill was fun to be around, energetic, and a good listener. She was a pillar of her family, someone whose laugh and smile were ever-present and whose encouragement lifted everyone around her. To younger generations especially, she gave a sense of love, belonging, guidance, and strength. Everyone was her friend, and she was, by every measure, the life of the party.

In her earlier years, Jill loved playing softball, camping, and visiting family in South Dakota. In more recent years, her many joys included playing pickleball and Mahjong, spending winters in Arizona, playing poker, hiking, and enjoying any kind of game. She also loved crafting in its many forms, including jewelry, pottery, and glass work. Above all, she cherished being with her family, trying out escape rooms, and planning scavenger hunts that brought people together in laughter and shared adventure.

Jill leaves behind a family who will carry her love with them always. She is survived by her husband, David McLaughlin; her children and their families, Laurie (Brian) Kimberling, Diane (Ty) Sprinkle, Ryan (Crystal) McLaughlin, and Austin (Jacqueline) McLaughlin; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her father, Roger Teeters; her siblings and their spouses, Brenda and Ernie Garbe; Scott and Lori Teeters, Todd and Kelly Teeters, Gene and Michelle Teeters and Tom Teeters and numerous nieces and nephews. In each of these relationships, Jill gave generously of herself, offering joy, steady support, and a welcoming heart that made family life richer and closer.

She was preceded in death by her mother, June Waite; her stepfather, Dwayne Waite; and her stepmother, Patty Teeters.

Jill’s memory will live on in the countless moments of laughter she created, in the traditions she nurtured, and in the love she so freely gave. Her life was one of celebration, companionship, creativity, and steadfast care for others. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
