Jeanne Marie Hamilton, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend peacefully passed away on August 27 2024, at the age of 83. Born on September 16, 1940, she graced the world with her kindness and warmth, leaving behind a legacy of love.
Jeanne dedicated her professional life as a lab technician at the Kirkpatrick Clinic in Longview, where her meticulous nature and gentle disposition made her an integral part of the community. She proudly graduated from Seattle Shoreline High School in 1958 and continued her education at Whitworth College, laying a strong foundation for her future endeavors.
As a mother, Jeanne was fiercely devoted to her children, Karen Donaldson and the late Mark Burhart. She made a concerted effort to create lasting memories, often taking her children to their grandparents' house at Hood's Canal and enjoying many memorable summer vacations. Jeanne was the ever-present cheerleader at her children's sporting events, embodying the spirit of support and encouragement. Her home was one of warmth and togetherness, where family dinners were a treasured tradition, filled with laughter and stories of the day.
Jeanne’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her family. A kind listener who was always ready to lend a helping hand, she devoted her time to community service, assisting those in need. Her strong moral compass, deeply rooted in her faith, guided her through life, as she raised her children in a Christian household, instilling in them the values of compassion and hard work. Jeanne's weekends were often spent in worship at her church, where she found community and fellowship.
Jeanne relished swimming at the YMCA, teaching her children to swim at a young age. She was known for her exceptional culinary skills, often preparing delicious meals that culminated in her famous berry cobbler for dessert—a symbol of her love for gardening. Beyond cooking and nurturing her family, she enjoyed the thrill of bowling in her younger years and engaging in card games and bunko with friends, weaving joy and connection into her life.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Karen Donaldson (Garry), her grandson, Joshua Donaldson (Emily), her granddaughters, Elysha Donaldson-Gieschen (Darren) and Brittney Burhart-Lee, her brother, Mike Hamilton (Donna), her sisters, Kathy Nicholson and Linda Hamilton, her nieces, Amber Corriston (Ryan) and Allison Hawkins (Reec), her nephew, Adam Hamilton, and 12 great-grandchildren.
