Lifelong local resident Geraldine “Geri” Hogman, 74, of Longview passed away April 17, 2023, with her sister Roxie by her side.
She was born Oct. 29, 1948, in Chehalis, Wash., and graduated from Kelso High School with the class of 1967.
Geri was married to Dale Hogman. They had a child together, and later divorced, but remained friends.
She worked for the Toutle River Boys Ranch and Fred Meyer, retiring in 2013. Geri was always willing to help others, and was a friend to all.
She loved dining out with her friends Carol Hogman and Linda Ehrig, shopping, and bazaars. She loved being with family and playing with her great-nieces and great-nephews. She also loved traveling with her companion Bill Connors.
Geri is survived by her mother, Florence “Laurine” (Nelson) Newberg of Ocean Park, Wash.; a sister, Roxie Eby of Longview; a daughter, Krista Abell (Steve Perkins) of Kelso; two grandchildren, Jamie eby (David) of Longview; and Jake Embley of Kelso; a great-grandson, Luke Abell in Washington; a niece, Kaela Huntington (Andy) of Kelso; a nephew, Colt Eby of Kalama; four great-nieces, Jolie, Ruby, Kinzlee and Dallas Eby, all of Kelso; a great-nephew, Carson Huntington of Kelso; and her companion Bill Connors of Longview.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Allen; and a grandson, Joshua Abell.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. May 18 at Steele Chapel with a reception to follow in the hospitality room.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
