Gaynor Alcid, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away at the age of 92 on July 21", 2025.

Gaynor was born on May 31", 1933 in Rhame North Dakota and spent her childhood in Longview, WA., Graduating from R. A. Long H. S., marrying, raising a family of six and later returning to college while working for the City of Portland.

She was known for her kindness, altruism, quick wit, and her tireless work ethic. Her beautiful garden is the perfect example of the fruits of her labor. She loved helping family members with their projects; such as building ponds, landscaping, decorating, and painting. She was also a fierce card and domino player; there were many memorable games played over the years. An accomplished seamstress; Gaynor made several wedding dresses and special holiday clothing for three generations of children. She loved hosting her family and friends for holidays and birthdays; her Christmas decor was unmatched and her family will hold many fond memories of epic egg hunts on Easter.

Gaynor was married to her beloved husband, Luis, for 42 years. He passed away in January. She and Lu were active members of St. Rose Catholic Church. One of the volunteer activities she most enjoyed was serving a meal once a month at Community House.

Gaynor is survived by her children; David Booth, Janis Frasier, Richard Booth, Pamala Gaddis, Rebecca Frazier, their spouses, her stepsons; Michael Alcid, Steve Alcid, Brian Alcid; and her brother Lynn Idler as well as her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. They will always be grateful for the love, support and kindness she brought into their lives. Gaynor is proceeded in death by her brothers; Jerry Idler, Lance Idler, Marvin Marks; sister Pinky Stanfil; daughter Sheryl Harding; and husband Luis Alcid. Gaynor made it a point to ensure all the members of her very large family felt special; whether simply getting together for a game of cards, taking a vacation, or enjoying holidays and family celebrations. She will be sorely missed.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Rose Catholic Church in Longview, Washington, on Thursday, August 21", at llam. Rosary will be said at 10:30am, prior to the mass. A reception will follow at 12pm at St. Rose. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside internment at Steele Chapel Longview Memorial Park at 3pm. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations go to St. Rose Church in Longview Wa.
