August 4, 1959 — April 29, 2024

Dennis Ray Kelp, 64, of Longview passed away April 29, 2024, at St. John Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 4, 1959, in Dunkirk, N.Y., to George and Rosetta “Ginger” (Green) Kelp.

Dennis enlisted in the Marines, serving from 1976 to 1980. He completed basic training in Twentynine Palms, Calif., and was stationed in Okinowa, Japan, and Korea for a short time.

He attended college in Spokane, Wash., where he met Lisa Wamre. She liked that he was approachable and kind. They were married in Reno, Nev., in 1987.

After his military service Dennis began a roofing career. He suffered a work-related fall in the late 1990s, and turned his attention to sales, first in roofing, and later with a hearing aid dispensary. He was preceded in death by his father, George Kelp; and a brother, Michael who passed at age 5.

A service will be announced at a later date.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park.
