Brian Jean Ball, 73, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026 at OHSU in Portland, Oregon. He was born on March 2, 1953, Brian lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, unconditional love, and an enduring optimism that genuinely touched all who knew him.

Brian pursued his education at St. Rose, Robert Gray, Kessler, Cascade Junior High, Mark Morris High School, and Lower Columbia College.

His career spanned an impressive 40+ years at Weyerhaeuser before he retired in 2013. Throughout his life, Brian was known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to those around him.

Brian is one of 6 brothers and deeply cherished his family, he is survived by his brothers Pat and Jim Ball.

He was predeceased by his parents Walt and Beverly Ball and brothers Terry, Frank, and Mike—Mike passing a mere four days after. 

He leaves behind his wife, Beverly, of 53 years together; his kids Sean Ball and Miranda Boudreau, Mirandas husband Kris; his grandkids Devin, Malea, Bella, Brooks, and Gwyn.

His most cherished accomplishment in life was his family and closest friends (who were also viewed as his family). He truly loved sharing fun stories of all sorts while spending quality time with as many as humanly possible. One of his most beautiful traits is how he made you feel while in his presence. The feeling of a genuine warm welcome and comfort would embrace the heart. 

Describing Brian in a few words simply isn’t possible as it’s more of a feeling within.

In honor of Brian’s memory and the light he brought to our lives and the world, a celebration of his beautiful life will be held on August 29 at 3:00 p.m. through midnight at 136 Spruce Creek Road in Longview, WA 98632. This potluck gathering will be a tribute to “the man who saw the light in everyone, always found the good in everything, and left the world brighter because he was here.” Please feel welcome to accompany us and share stories, as Brian will be there in spirit.

Brian’s legacy of kindness, inclusiveness, laughter, confidence, warmth, and positivity will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his everlasting memory bring comfort to all who mourn his loss.
