Kelso

Devoted family man Bobbie A. Moore, 92, of Kelso, passed away Feb. 29, 2024, at Angel’s View Adult Family Home in Longview.

He was born Aug. 19, 1931, in Salmon, Idaho, to John M. and Josephine (Westfall) Moore. His father passed away and Bob quit school to join the Army and help support his family. He served from 1946 to 1949, stationed in Korea.

After his honorable discharge, Bob married Deloris Petersen Dec. 1, 1949, in Mountain Home, Idaho. A few years later they moved to Cowlitz County where Bob worked as a logger before owning and operating National Auto Parts of Longview on Oregon Way.

He was a feisty workaholic but still found time to enjoy fishing, woodworking, raising herefords on his cattle farm, traveling throughout the west, and visiting family in Oklahoma and Idaho.

Bob is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Steve Edwards of Kelso, and Diane and Dennis Kilgore of Longview; a daughter-in-law, Linda Moore of Mossyrock, Wash.; a brother, Allen Zumsteg of Colville, Wash.; and five grandchildren, Bryan Edwards of Kelso, Adam Moore of Onalaska, Wash., Whitney Moore of Rochester, Wash., and Janaye Kilgore and Conner Kilgore, both of Longview.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Deloris Moore in 2019; two sons, Monte Moore and an infant; and two brothers, Joe and Ed Moore.

Bob will be laid to rest with Deloris during a private entombment at Longview Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Steele Chapel.
