Billie Jo Anshutz, born August 9, 1957, in Longview, Washington, died on September 7, 2026, under hospice care at home from natural causes.

Billie Jo will be remembered for her sense of humor, her willful spirit, and her honesty. She found joy and pleasure in many things, including country music, animals—especially cats—French fries, especially from McDonald’s, special coffees and chocolates, going for rides and outings, receiving dolls, playing her favorite coin game, and shopping for her favorite magazines. Above all, she loved her home. It was among her most treasured part of life, a place filled with the people she lived with and those that cared for her and brought her comfort and happiness.

She especially looked forward to the holidays, delighting in Christmas gifts and in Easter and receiving her Easter basket. One of her proudest accomplishments was making long-lasting and loving friendships with the people she lived with and with those who cared for her throughout her life. Those relationships were a meaningful and lasting part of who she was.

Billie Jo is survived by her brother, James Anshutz; her sister, DIana Brisco; and her sister-in-law, JoAnn Anshutz; 3 nieces, 2 nephews, and 7 great-nieces and nephews. Also surviving Billie Jo are all those at Lifeworks, those she shared a home with, and the many who loved and cared for her throughout the years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Anshutz; her father, James Anshutz; and her brother, Kenneth Anshutz. She will be remembered with love by her family, her housemates, and the many people whose lives were brightened by her friendship and presence.

Services will be held on September 18, 2026, at Steele Chapel, 5050 Mt. Solo Rd., Longview, WA 98632, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow at Steele Chapel from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A graveside service will then take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Longview Memorial Park, 5050 Mt. Solo Road, Longview, WA 98632.

Billie Jo’s life was marked by affection for the things and people she loved most. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
