Arlyce Marilyn Ross, 89, quietly passed away on March 30, 2026 under hospice care at LovingCare Adult Family Home in Vancouver, Washington.

Arlyce was born July 25, 1936 to Omar and Alice (Hagbom) Watkins. When Arlyce was an infant, her mother passed away and she and her brother, Gerald, were raised by their grandparents and aunts and uncles. Arlyce enjoyed spending time with her cousins in Montana and North Dakota and she graduated from Hettinger High School in 1954.

Arlyce married James Ross on December 31, 1956 in Hettinger, ND and they made their first home in Seattle before moving to Sedro-Woolley, WA. Arlyce received her music degree at Skagit Valley College and she taught piano and organ lessons to her students for 30 years.

Arlyce loved spending time with family and friends and she enjoyed traveling, camping, knitting and teaching sign language, She had a strong faith and many church friends in Skagit County and Longview/Kelso.

Arlyce is survived by her son, Darrell, three daughters, Lynette, Katherine (Dennis), Charlotte (Darren), two granddaughters, Amber (Jared), Heather (Eric), sister-in-laws, Theresa and Shirley (Fred) and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Arlyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, brother Gerald, son-in-law Anthony "Donga", sister-in-laws Marilyn and Lyla, brother-in-law Cliff and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Arlyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be remembered for her smile and her willingness to help her friends and neighbors.

The family is grateful to LovingCare Adult Family Home for taking wonderful care of Arlyce.

A private family service will be held.
