Carol Ann Wimer

Longtime local resident Carol Ann Wimer, 75, of Longview passed away Jan. 30, 2021.
She was born Dec. 1, 1946, in California to Henry Nuton and Lillian Christine (Stamner) Morkert. Carol was a loving, accepting, open-minded and forgiving soul who helped care for her 11 siblings. The family moved to Longview and Carol attended Mark Morris High School where she played violin in the school band.
On Dec. 11, 1964, Carol married Richard Galloway. They had four children, including Robert Allen, who passed away as an infant. Carol and Richard later divorced.
Carol married Larry Wimer who brought his daughter Pamela Sue into the family. Larry passed away in 2013 after 35 years of marriage.
Carol was a bookkeeper for the Red Lion and Watkins Tractor. She enjoyed dancing at the Eagles and Elks, NASCAR, and organizing family get-togethers. She loved Christmas and collected nutcrackers and Santas.
Carol is survived by two son, Richard and Jeffery Galloway; a daughter, Tracey Galloway; seven brothers, Robert in Astoria, Lloyd in Kelso, Leslie in DeRidder, La., James, Johnny and Harvey, all in Longview, and Henry in Castle Rock; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and infant son Robert, Carol was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn, Norman and Albert Morkert; and a sister, Odella Dixon.
A funeral is planned for 10 a.m. March 5 at Steele Chapel. Crypt placement will follow at Longview Memorial Park.
